In the Limelight
What’s happening on stage this month? From online performances to live gigs, we’ve put together a list of the most exciting events in classical music, opera and theatre taking place in October.
Catch up on what’s been in the limelight with the top arts news stories, important issues and ideas. This month sees Opera Australia facing staff cuts, audiences masking up to hit the theatre again, and a new survey analysing how Australians view the arts.
On Air & Online
Each month we take a look at the highlights coming up in online streaming as well as on ABC Classic and the independent radio stations ArtSound, Fine Music Sydney, 3MBS, 4MBS and 5MBS. In October, the arts content you can enjoy from the comfort of your home ranges from streaming the Broadway production of Hamilton to celebrating Beethoven’s 250th.
When Claire Edwardes first discovered this weird and wonderful instrument in Holland she thought it might be rather one-dimensional, but in fact, she has discovered it is full of sonic possibilities.
