While the shuttering of theatres and concert halls in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, put a stop to live performance, a number of musicians and ensembles turned to recording projects, adapting their practices to the regulations, restrictions and artistic needs of the moment. In that spirit, new music outfit Ensemble Offspring released a series of videos of solo performances, filmed in Sydney’s Baker Street Studios during lockdown, presenting modern masterpieces alongside new works by Australian composers.
