Handel wrote the “Twelve Grand Concertos” in just one month, in 1739. Yes, he adopted his usual practise of recycling previously composed material. But it needed substantial reworking. And he was more “inspired” by, than directly stole from, the likes of Corelli, Muffat and Domenico Scarlatti.
