La Boite Theatre Company’s Artistic Director and CEO will conclude his tenure at the end of his current contract, which finishes in December 2020. MacDonald has led the company since taking over the dual position in January 2015.

The company has announced that its new artistic leadership would be considered further in 2021, and that a revised artistic leadership model would be responsive to the industry-wide impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m grateful to have had the opportunity not only to contribute as an actor and director but also to make space for critical voices and diverse stories,” MacDonald said. “With a new strategic plan that places diversity at its core, I’m excited to see La Boite’s continued journey towards its 100th anniversary under new artistic leadership.”

Highlights of MacDonald’s tenure at La Boite include Future D.
