The series will open on 8 and 9 January with Mambo Influenciado, which will see pianist and composer Daniel Rojas reimagining some of Latin America’s best loved tunes and tango with strings from Sydney’s Ensemble Apex at Vaucluse House. The recitals follow Rojas and Ensemble Apex’s performance for streaming platform Melbourne Digital Concert Hall in October this year.
The Orava Quartet will also be performing at Vaucluse House, on 10 January, before the Salon Series continues in the Sydney Town Hall Vestibule, where the quartet plays on 11 January. The Oravas will play the First String Quartets of Mozart and Erwin Schulhoff, alongside Shostakovich’s Eighth Quartet.
