The Kiwi opera trio pledge to refund any unsatisfied customers on their upcoming UK tour.

Ahead of their upcoming UK tour Kiwi opera trio Sol3 Mio have offered all ticket holders a customer satisfaction guarantee: love the performance or your money back. The pledge was announced as part of the publicity drive for the group’s upcoming trip to the Northern Hemisphere, in a statement saying “if you are willing to buy a ticket, we are willing to put our hearts on our sleeves, put focus in our eyes, and put money where our mouths are.”

Their promise to ticket holders continues, “We guarantee that you will enjoy the show so much so that we will even give your money back if you do not break a laugh, tear or emotion.” However despite this claim there appeared to be no provision for such a refund in the terms and conditions of the groups online ticket distributor for the UK tour, Ents24.

The two talented tenor brothers Pene and Amitai Pati and their baritone cousin Moses Mackay who make up Sol3 Mio have cemented a reputation for pairing their unquestionable singing talent (Pene Pati is the most recent winner of the prestigious Montserrat Caballé International Singing Competition for example) with an affable and down-to-earth performance style infused with humour and friendly audience banter. Their accessible programs feature opera favourites, lighter classics and arrangements of traditional New Zealand songs.

The group have been hugely successful in their native New Zealand, with their debut self-titled album selling more copies in 2013 than any other disc, across all genres, outstripping even the efforts of pop act Lorde, the second biggest seller that year. Since then their record sales have remained impressive highly, and their multi-platinum selling debut disc enjoyed 16 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in NZ in 2014.

The three singers will however be hoping for better luck than they experienced on their Australian tour last year, which had all but one performance cancelled due to “scheduling issues beyond [their] control.”
