The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is calling upon music-lovers young and old, to join in its 2015 season. The program, announced today, includes a wide variety of music, showcasing the orchestra’s “spirit of artistic adventure”.

“We will be showcasing artistic talent from all over the world from the American soprano Renée Fleming and the Chinese pianist Yuja Wang to MSO’s Australian Associate Conductor Benjamin Northey,” said Managing Director André Gremillet. “The 2015 program is bursting with a wide range of repertoire, ensuring there is something for everyone.”

In fact, An Evening with Renée Fleming is an exclusive to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. The American soprano will give just two performances in Australia, serenading audiences with the signature works and arias for which she is known. Given Fleming’s populist mainstream work (like her cameo in Howard Shore’s The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King soundtrack), the two concerts are sure to draw a broad audience.
