Queensland Symphony Orchestra has announced that Natsuko Yoshimoto is joining the orchestra as Co-Concertmaster, to sit alongside Warwick Adeney who has been Concertmaster since 2001.

Yoshimoto was Concertmaster at the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for 12 years until the end of the 2020 season. She is now a staff member at the Conservatorium of Music in Queensland and is married to QSO’s Principal Viola Imants Larsens. She has performed with QSO throughout 2021 and has recently been Guest Co-Concertmaster.

Yoshimoto has been a guest performer and concertmaster with several major orchestras in Australia and Asia, and has performed as soloist with many world-renowned orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia (London), Halle Orchestra, Odense Symphony (Denmark), Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

She is also an enthusiastic chamber musician. A member of Ensemble Q, she was previously the leader of both the Australian String Quartet and the Grainger Quartet. She frequently performs as a guest with other chamber ensembles, particularly in festivals.
