Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2021

Melbourne Theatre Company will finally return to the stage in January after 10 and a half months waiting in the wings. Given the safety restrictions around COVID-19 currently in place in Melbourne, the company has decided to  just release the first part of its 2021 season, which will include two mainstage productions and a Summer Series of works in development. The company is also launching MTC Digital Theatre in 2021.

“Announcing our return to stage is a significant milestone – it marks the end of our longest stretch off-stage in the company’s history and the beginnings of MTC’s recovery,” said Artistic Director and CEO Brett Sheehy.

“It also signals our survival of 2020, MTC’s very own annus horribilis, and a year that we could not have got through without the support of our audiences and broader community.”
