Flautist Brian Kim will represent Australia at the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition in St Petersburg. The Sydney flute player, who is currently in his first year at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with professor Philippe Bernold, will perform in the prestigious competition’s First Round of the Woodwind section at the end of the week.

His performance will be streamed live here at 1:20am AEST time – with the video available for replay after that time – thanks to medici.tv. Limelight will be following Kim’s progress through the competition. In his First Round recital Kim will perform JS Bach’s solo Partita in A Minor and Vladimir Tsybin’s Concert Allegro No 2 for flute and piano.
