Dylan Spoering, an eight-year-old in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has made headlines after a piano concert held on his front porch attracted an audience of over 200 people.

Spoering initially advertised the concert with a hand-written sign on his front lawn that said ‘Free concert by Dylan Spoering, 2:30-3:20pm.’ Public interest was sparked by local musician Thomas Rehbein, who, on his cycle-route home, photographed the poster and created a Facebook page for the event.

“I have no idea who Dylan Spoering is, but he made this sign and put it out in his front yard, which I saw while biking home,” Rehbein wrote on Facebook. “Wouldn’t it be cool if a bunch of people showed up for his free concert?”

The event quickly went viral, and, despite wet weather, people attended the performance in their hundreds. Many concert-goers made signs to show support for the young pianist, labelling themselves ‘Dylan Heads’. In addition, the event was streamed online with over 10,000 people tuning in.
