The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has announced the appointment of renowned producer, director and arts administrator Edwina Throsby as the new Managing Editor for Arts. Throsby will take on the role from 9 August, stepping away from her position as Head of Talks and Ideas at the Sydney Opera House. The position will see her returning to the ABC, having served as series producer of Big Ideas, and a producer on Sunday Afternoon Arts, Q+A, Four Corners and Media Watch.

Throsby has an admirable history of roles within arts organisations, previously acting as Head of Curation for TEDXSydney from 2013 to 2016. In her role with Sydney Opera House, Throsby oversaw both the Antidote and All About Women festivals, among other events.
