Australian conductor Daniel Smith has been appointed as Principal Guest Director of Teatro Carlo Felice at a press conference in Genoa yesterday. He will take up his new post in addition to his current roles as Orchestra Director and Ambassador of Australian culture in Italy. The announcement was attended by the Australian Ambassador to Italy Dr Greg French and Crispin Conroy, Consul General and Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner, together with the Genovese Institutions along with a group of Australian and Italian entrepreneurs interested in strengthening mutual relations between the two countries.
