Craig McMaster has been named as the new Director of Parramatta’s Riverside Theatres, taking over from Robert Love, who did extraordinary work in the position for 20 years.

McMaster was appointed by City of Parramatta Council, which owns and operates the Riverside Theatres. He brings with him 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry. His previous roles include the Project and Executive Director of Sydney Coliseum Theatre, West HQ – the 2000-seat theatre venue, which opened in Rooty Hill in Western Sydney in late 2019.

McMaster comes to Riverside Theatres directly from AvenuArts (Australasia), a boutique arts/entertainment and commercial consultancy practice, where he was Managing Director. He has also worked as Chief Marketing and Information Officer for VenuesLive Management Services; CEO of ticketing and VIP packaging provider Showbiz Group; and in senior leadership roles with Ticketek, including as Chief Executive Officer.

Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer welcomed McMaster’s appointment, saying it marked “an exciting new direction for Riverside Theatres” as Council continues working on the proposed redevelopment of the facility as part of a new cultural...
