Trumpet-playing driver gets in trouble on Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge.

We’ve all sung along to our favourite songs while driving, but one Melbourne musician took musical motoring to a new, and potentially dangerous level last week when he was caught playing the trumpet while driving over Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge.

The 27 year-old man from Portarlington was seen erratically driving a black sedan towards the city last Friday. Highway Patrol officers intercepted the man after receiving a number of calls from other concerned drivers, and to their surprise, the reports of a man playing a trumpet while at the wheel turned out to be absolutely true.

A fine of $354 was handed out for careless driving. Melbourne Police passed on their thanks to the motorists who reported the man, saying they likely prevented an accident.
