The Australian Ballet live-streams Facebook’s longest ever broadcast with 20 hours of behind-the-scenes footage.

It’s World Ballet Day today – a chance for ballet lovers around the globe to access exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and immerse themselves in a 20-hour dance marathon. The Australian Ballet, in collaboration with four of the world’s leading ballet companies –  the Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and San Francisco Ballet – will come together to live-steam ballet classes, rehearsals and exclusive interviews from 1pm today.

Now in its third year, World Ballet Day will be streamed for the first time on Facebook Live – the longest broadcast ever to be shown on the platform. The stream begins with The Australian Ballet at 1pm AEST, hosted by Channel 7 presenter James Tobin and Australian Ballet coryphée Brooke Lockett. Go online to watch the company undertake their daily class as well as rehearse for upcoming shows including Swan Lake, Nijinsky, Spartacus and Coppélia.
