The  Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) has announced the names of the 67 Australian composers who will take part in its ambitious commissioning project The ANAM Set.

Each of the composers has been commissioned to write a six-minute work for one of ANAM’s 67 young musicians. All the new commissions will be played live in the second half of 2021, with the first performances taking place in August. There are also plans to film the performances so that they can be seen interstate and internationally, as well as in regional and remote communities.

The composers selected represent a rich diversity of genres, backgrounds and career paths, ranging from some of Australia’s most established composers including Brett Dean, Ross Edwards, Elena Kats-Chernin, Liza Lim and Richard Mills, to experimental composers such as Samantha Wolf, Cat Hope and Anthony Pateras, to emerging young composers like Kitty Xiao and Alexander Voltz.
