The Australian Chamber Orchestra has announced an upcoming three-year residency at London’s Barbican Centre. Beginning in the Barbican’s 2018/19 concert season, ACO will be one of three International Associate Ensembles at Milton Court Concert Hall, alongside the LA Philharmonic headed by Gustavo Dudamel and the Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis.

“To be invited to take residence as International Associate Ensemble at Milton Court in London, alongside such august company as the LA Philharmonic and the Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra, is an extraordinary honour,” said ACO’s Artistic Director Richard Tognetti. “London is the world’s cultural capital, and the Barbican Centre stands out as the city’s most intrepid concert venue for its courageous programming and dedication to presenting truly imaginative productions across all art-forms.”

The seeds for this partnership were sown in November 2016, when Tognetti was the Barbican Centre’s inaugural Artist-in-Residence at Milton Court.
