Ahead of her Australian tour, Sumi Jo chats to Limelight readers on Facebook and Twitter.

She boxes for two hours a day; Dame Joan Sutherland has cooked for her and she has studied with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf; she’s a UNESCO ambassador; she loves flirting and her dog – also an accomplished soprano – is named Cindy Crawford. These are just a few of the things we learned about Korean-born, Italy-based coloratura soprano Sumi Jo when we spoke to her last year.

In fact, she was so bubbly and feisty that we barely had time to discuss her dozens of award-winning recordings or what it was like working with great maestri the likes of Richard Bonynge and Georg Solti.

This time, it’s your turn to ask the questions! An avid Tweeter, Sumi has agreed to answer any questions posed by Limelight readers as a comment on our Facebook page or on Twitter (hashtag: #AskSumiJo) by Thursday November 8. Limelight will publish her responses the following week.

Don’t forget to Like/Follow us while you’re there!

For those lucky enough to be based in Sydney and Melbourne, the reader who asks the best question (as determined by Sumi and the Limelight editors) will win a double A-reserve pass to the concert in their city.

Here are a few of our questions to get you started.

Sumi Jo gives recitals at Sydney’s City Recital Hall on November 18 and the Melbourne Arts Centre on November 20. View event details here.
