anon. is a creative, new cross-disciplinary collective, with a bold new vision of classical music. After launching in Melbourne last year, the ensemble are preparing for their first performance in 2014 – Still In Time.

I asked Nicole Tj what she and cofounder Thomas Lo hoped to achieve with this project. “In three words: Classical. Creative. Collaborative,” Nicole replied. “Our vision is to develop anon. as a creative platform for collaborations that not only refreshes but also enhances the concert experience, and in doing so reaching out to a younger audience.”

The duo met while studying at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and anon. grew organically from their earliest performances. While Nicole and Thomas are undoubtedly at the centre of anon., the collaborative nature of the project means that the duo is only ever one aspect. “anon. wouldn’t be anon. without the people that we work with,” enthuses Nicole. “We hope that anon. will be increasingly a platform for others to be involved in, whether as a musician, designer, photographer or audience member.”
