Brisbane Music Festival: Celestial Spirits
24 April @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm AEST
Many BMF artists come together for this performance in celebration of concertos from the Baroque era, threaded together by celestial chants of 12th century composer, mystic, and visionary, Hildegard von Bingen.
At interval, enjoy a glass of bubbles and the gorgeous view of Brisbane City before the music moves forward in time with Natsuko Yoshimoto (violin) and Alex Raineri (piano) taking the spotlight as soloists.
The afternoon concludes with a musical excerpt from an incredible new opera in development titled Spirit Orphan. Created and performed by Jenna Robertson with music and sound design by Corrina Bonshek, Spirit Orphan is a meditation on belonging and the resonance of place in response to 2019 bushfire experiences in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
