ANAM student Harry Bennetts has landed a place at the prestigious Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Academy.

Harry Bennetts, a 22-year-old violinist and student at the Australian National Academy of Music, has become the first musician from the institution to win a place at the prestigious Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Academy under a new ANAM International Partnership Programme. The two-year residency, with the orchestra considered by many to be the most accomplished in the world, will commence in September, and will see Bennetts joining the ranks of the Berlin Phil’s string section for several performances, as well as receiving mentoring and tuition from the orchestra’s world-class musicians.

2016 will be a year of globetrotting for the talented young virtuoso, who will be back in Melbourne in November to perform the Brahms Violin Concerto in ANAM’s Concerto Competition, performing with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Johannes Fritzsch.
