A West Australian arts organisation, Voyces’ focus is on the performance, production and promotion of contemporary choral repertoire, with Musical Director Dr. Robert Braham leading the ensemble through diverse and challenging choral music. Voyces has showcased works by acclaimed Australian composers such as Peter Sculthorpe, Iain Grandage, Dan Walker and Stephen Leek, alongside international composers including Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen and Ola Gjeilo.
Voyces join forces with renowned Australian soprano Rachelle Durkin for Tundra, a concert exploring music from the northernmost corners of the world. Spanning music from Iceland to Canada, Tundra features music written by Ola Gjeilo, Einojuhani Rautavaara and Harry Somers, amongst others. Tundra will also feature song cycles performed by Rachelle Durkin.
Voyces Music Director, Dr Robert Braham, is thrilled that a collaboration with Durkin has been possible. "We always relish the opportunity to work with top-level artists, and having Rachelle on board for Tundra is wonderful for the choir. The songs she will perform at the concert provide a great depth to the programme and complement the choral sections of the concert which have a strong emphasis on folk melody from various northern traditions."
