Blue Love comes to the Sydney for one night only – a poetic and satirical take on the clichés of pop culture, romance, coupledom and suburbia infused with intense physical theatre, film and dance.

Shaun Parker & Company will present Blue Love, for one night only at the Seymour Centre on August 23rd. From award-winning Australian choreographer, Shaun Parker, Blue Love is infused with intense physical theatre, film and dance and is a poetic and satirical take on the clichés of pop culture, romance, coupledom and suburbia.

From a fantastic place where TV soap meets art-house film, Glenn and Rhonda Flune take the audience in search of the perfect relationship, parodying the lip-service given to love and its incarnations.  Blue Love is inspired by famous works of art, theatre, music and film; all of which deal with the concept of love.

Blue Love features a pulsing score of popular songs about love and heartbreak that will strike a chord with everyone, including: Stop In The Name of Love, I Will Survive, Don’t Call Me Baby, I Want To Know What Love is, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, You Sexy Thing, Linger, Love Is A Battlefield, and many more.

This quirky, character-based work is a multi-media, physical theatre comedy: accessible, challenging and enormously entertaining.

Blue Love will be performed at the Seymour Centre in a special one-off performance as Shaun Parker & Company’s major fundraising event for the year. Funds raised from this event will allow Australia’s most wide reaching and accessible not-for-profit dance company to continue to create new work and deliver their ground-breaking dance education program.
