Adelaide Baroque: Handel’s Messiah
22 December 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm ACDT
Handel’s music is eternal, optimistic, lively, and given fresh life in this invigorating and inspiring performance. What Christmas is complete without the joyous music of “For unto us a child is Born”, the Hallelujah Chorus, and the resounding final Amen? And there’s no more fitting venue than the beautiful surrounds of St. Peter’s Cathedral.
The two performances are with with Adelaide Baroque, Adelaide’s beloved specialist baroque orchestra led by Ben Dollman, and the St. Peter’s Cathedral Consort, conducted by Anthony Hunt.
Enjoy a cast of Australia’s finest Messiah soloists – soprano Jessica Dean, mezzo-soprano Sally-Anne Russell, tenor Andrew Goodwin, and bass Pelham Andrews; this performance of Messiah is not to be missed.
