Gondwana Choirs will present the inaugural Festival of Summer Voices from 18-21 January at the University of New South Wales and Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

The series of five uplifting concerts showcase the extraordinary talents of more than 300 young choristers, conductors and composers aged 10 to 26 years from around Australia and celebrates 20 years of Gondwana National Choirs.

Led by Gondwana Choirs Founder and Artistic Director Lyn Williams OAM, the festival also features an exclusive performance by the internationally-acclaimed Australian vocal quartet The Idea of North. Concerts include:

  • Concert 1: Summer Voices Opening Gala | Wednesday, 18 January at 7pm at Sir John Clancy Auditorium, UNSW. Experience the power of Gondwana Choirs in full flight.
  • Concert 2: The Idea of North in Concert | Friday, 20 January at 7pm at Sir John Clancy Auditorium, UNSW. Enjoy a beautifully distinct sound and style, crossing many musical genres in an exciting and surprising way.
  • Concert 3 & 5: A Cappella Academy | Saturday, 21 January at 3pm & 6.30pm at Verbrugghen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Gondwana Choirs like you've never heard them before! A celebration of 100 years of contemporary a cappella music from the Andrews Sisters, Queen, Bee Gees to Pitch Perfect!.
  • Concert 4: Gondwana Chorale in Recital | Saturday, 21 January at 5.15pm at Music Workshop, Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Hear Gondwana Chorale, Australia’s national youth choir, at the peak of their vocal prowess before they embark on an extensive tour of the USA.
