This year will be the 29th Annual Vienna Pop’s Concert, which makes it one of the longest running annual concerts on the Perth music calendar. In support of the 50 member Vienna Pops Orchestra our Music Director, Mark Coughlan, has assembled Six Sopranos to help us celebrate 2016 and cheer in 2017. The Six Sopranos have all studied and worked here in Perth and are independently well known to the local Opera and Classic music patrons. Whilst some of the group are new to the industry others have progressed their careers overseas and will be returning to provide Perth audience an exclusive experience performing Operettas, Duets and Choral entertainment. As mentioned The Six Sopranos will be ably supported by the Orchestra which consists of musicians assembled from not only West Australian but also Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. The orchestra will be lead by Concert Master Shaun Lee Chen and conducted by Mark Coughlan.
Our Sopranos are all from WA and they are:
Louise Fenbury currently performing in Germany
Monique Flanagan recently performed for the WA French Film Festival.
Amy Manford is currently studying her Masters at the Royal College of Music London
Emma Pettemerides recently performed for Perth’s Freeze Frame Opera.
Prudance Sanders is currently performing in London.
Daniella Sicari is currently completing her Masters of Music at the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester, UK).
In addition to the concert patrons are able to extend their celebrations with a pre-show dinner at the Concert Hall and a post show party where they can meet and chat to the musicians who always join in on the festivities.
Funds raised from the event go to the many programs that The Rotary Club of Perth support including; Prostate Cancer Research, Domestic abuse support programs and Teenager child support programs.
