You may have heard that we’ve partnered with Richard Gill and Karen Carey to produce the Limelight Australian Composition Seminar at Santa Sabina College on the 26th July. This event is the brain-child of Richard, Karen and myself who wanted to bring an experience to school-aged composers that’d demystify the compositional process and instil some creative values that’ll hopefully stay with them throughout their careers. I commissioned four great local composers, got together some great musicians and, well, away we go. We have a very exciting announcement we’ll make at the concert as well – I can barely contain myself!

I cannot emphasise enough the wonders that come with a grounding in composition. It leads to such developed lateral thinking skills and creative problem solving skills, which lead composers to be able to do all sorts of things… maybe I’m a bit bias as I am a composer (as is Max and Will, our production manager)!
