1992 winner
Kong Siang-Dong, China

Kong has performed in over 30 countries and territories. Although he also won the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in 1998, his most significant achievement has been not in performance, but in founding 17 music and arts schools throughout China. Today, more than 7,000 students have been enriched by Xiang-Dong Kong’s mentoring programs.
