Former French Virgin Classics A&R director will travel internationally in search of new talent to sign.
EMI Classics has appointed Jean-Philippe Rolland as its new A&R president from the beginning of July. Reporting to EMI Music UK and Ireland CEO Andria Vidler, Rolland succeeds Andrew Cornall, who will continue to work for the label as A&R consultant.
Rolland will divide his time between London and Paris, working with EMI’s roster of established and developing artists, and searching for potential signings around the world. He joins the label with a wealth of experience, having worked as international A&R director of sister label Virgin Classics in Paris.
"I’m delighted that Jean-Philippe is joining EMI Classics in this important role to strengthen our A&R capability," said Andria Vidler. "Classical music is core to EMI and in Jean-Philippe we have one of the most experienced and respected A&Rs in the business."
